Additional Opportunities with Gasher

Reader Internships: CLOSED

Gasher Journal offers year-long positions as a reader for our online publication! Please note, this is an unpaid position. The internship is open for both students and non-students, established and emerging writers who are over the age of 18.

Duties include:

  • Reading and voting on assigned genre's submissions for 4 online issues of Gasher within set deadlines.

  • Communication with the editor(s) regarding final selections.

  • Editing/formatting of selected pieces.

Book Reviews:

We are pleased to announce our newest opportunity: book reviews!

Gasher Journal seeks writers to complete reviews on new and upcoming publications that we receive from a wide variety of presses.

Selected reviewers will be placed on Gasher's review team and will be notified monthly of available books for review. Reviewers have the flexibility to select, from the list of available texts, which books they'd like to receive (for free) for review. The review editor will then set a deadline with the reviewer for the initial draft and final draft afterward. Reviewers are not obligated to review on a monthly basis but are encouraged to review a book every 2-3months to remain in good standing.

Please note: We are pleased to announce that we are now able to pay review contributors $35 per published review.

To become a member of our review team, please submit the following application via email: Reviews.Gasher@gmail.com

First, please review Gasher's review guidelines.

Then, submit the following:

1. A sample 900-1200 word review of poetry, fiction, or CNF book from a small press of your choice.

2. A short bio with any relevant information.

Questions can be directed to Remigius Recchia at Reviews.Gasher@gmail.com.
